Homemade gummies are a healthy snack we often have on hand at home. We like to play around with ingredients to mix things up but I couldn’t pass up this seasonal combination to share with ya’all. Being honest, gummy worms gross me out a tid bit (in the way they look not taste ;) but I am happy to fill that desire of something playful for my littles and yet a much healthier alternative to candy. I even allow these at the breakfast table beause there are no-nonsense ingredients included.
This recipe has been thoroughly enjoyed and made as gummy worms and gummy bears. An outting with the kids to find some local fresh pressed apple cider makes this recipe next level. I'll spare you of every nitty gritty detail of how beneficial gelatin is a nutrionally dense snack and maple syrup as your sweetener, but if you are wondering, think protein and minerals in one bite. Enjoy my friends.
Ingredients
½ cup apple cider (can substitute with apple juice not from concentrate)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 scoops gelatin
Directions
Pour liquid ingredients into a small saucepan.
Sprinkle the gelatin, let it bloom for 3-5 minutes.
Heat saucepan on low, stir constantly. Mix all ingredients and blend until gelatin is completely dissolved.
Pour into molds or use a dropper to fill each mold.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Store in an air-tight container for up to a week in the fridge. Enjoy.
Do you have a measurement for the gelatin?
