Late Summer Days

Updated: 4 days ago

These does have been out roaming for days on end. I guess I could say I’m a risk taker or I forgot to go up and close them in at night multiple evenings in a row.

It’s the end of summer shouldn’t they be able to roam like wild horses and gobble up all their hearts desire? I guess I’m only saying this all because they were safe and sound everytime I have walked up for daily milking. They were scattered throughout the open field but ready to send out their calls of approval the moment they noticed I had appeared.

I was finishing up the very last Magic Tree House book with the kids the other day and I couldn’t help but love the little lesson at the tail end of the book. Amazing series for littles by the way. The book was going on about animals and the safety they hold in a setting of a zoo but… the freedom they have when released out into the wild. It must come with risk to be set free but where can you guess the quality of life exists? Perhaps I’m stretching it some, don’t know but, what a metaphor for life.

I hope for us all to roam like wild animals risk and all yet free. That’s all. Shenanigans from a farmhand’s mind come late summer.
